An Outdoor Maternity Portrait Session

A maternity portrait session is a time in which a photographer shows off the "essence" of a woman while she is carrying her unborn child in her womb. Christi is a pretty woman to begin with but her baby bump made her even more beautiful. In other words, she's a HOT mama!

Christi's main motivation for doing a maternity photo session was because she didn't do anything like that when she was expecting her older son and, unfortunately, she regretted it. She believes it is important to capture that moment in a woman's life so a mother can always look back at the photos and cherish those memories.
She knew what type of portrait session she wanted to experience. Something fun and modern. We started our maternity session at a park near Downtown Houston and eventually took advantage of Houston's surrounding architecture.

One of my personal favorite images is of her unborn child's shoes on her tummy.

Yesterday, at the Hilton Americas Houston, I learned how to create EXTRAORDINARY poses while finishing them with incredible techniques from Doug Gordon. He is one of the most influential wedding photographers in the world! I learned how to take ordinary photographic situations and turn them into the EXTRAORDINARY. I absorbed his techniques. His images illustrate technical perfection with an ease in posing and capturing a bride's REAL expressions. He taught me how to take in his all-too-easy but all-necessary finishing techniques, and learn to turn the perfect image into a piece of art.

Every 6 months we find ourselves once again meeting many brides at the Bridal Extravaganza Show in Houston looking for that one photographer that will capture their special day. We don't know how these brides do it because the event is quite overwhelming (we just hope they took some good notes).

Overall, it was quite a successful show for us. We met with hundreds of brides. We discussed our various Wedding Collections and how they can be customized to fit the brides' needs and budget.

League City Fire Department (LCFD) 2010 Firefighter Calendar

Photographing pets at the Animal Kingdom Pet Hospital (owned and operated by Sara G. Kessler, DVM) was a great deal of fun! I photographed many dogs, cats, and even a cockatoo. I offered on-the-spot printing for the owners. I really got a kick out of seeing their outfits. I posted my favorite image of the session.

On Independence Day, I was fortunate to photograph Chelsea and Mitch at Safari Texas Ranch. It was sizzling HOT!! There are so many spots to photograph at this venue while peacocks and deer roam around. The boys couldn't wait for the wedding to get off the ground (literally) while Chelsea eagerly awaited to be with her 'man.' Oh! And, they are true Aggies. Just look at the groom's cake.
